Writing Horror Stories

Hello friends and guests, I started to write my own horror stories now on Writing.com! I have long been writing short stories, but I have always kept them to myself for fear they were not good enough. I always thought my grammar skills were weak, and lacking in my mind. I always was a bit of a perfectionist, I am the type of person to go back over someone elses work and put what I like to call the Mikey twist to it! You can go to writing.com and just read all the great work fellow authors share on there. You can also go there and sign up totally free for one year and start to type your stories. With the upgraded membership which is only around $20 per year you can also write you own novels too! With the free membership you are limited, it does cost money to run the site, so they do like it when you upgrade for $20! You get so much more when you upgrade, you get your own blog, the ability to write novels, and so much more.
The free membership comes with it’s own email address, your own portfolio, the ability to have your writings copyrighted, and reviewed, plus rated! You can also earn gift points from other members who read you work and like it. I have only been there now for a couple days and I already have a very good rating on the two short stories I wrote, plus over 700 gift points which count towards a lot on writing.com They are like a trophy, or money on the site!

Direct TV; Better than Cable?

I would like to start off saying we had cable TV through our local provider for more than 20 years!!!  So the question is; Is Direct TV or Satellite TV better than cable???

Well, I can tell from inside my house with the shades drawn and the doors closed if it is raining or snowing outside!!!  Reason being is because every time it rains we have no TV, or as our TV states; "Searching for Signal"!!!  So I can tell when it’s raining and I can also tell when it stops.  How you may wonder or ask yourself???  Simple, because our TV goes off the air and then comes back on when it stops raining!!!  When we get snow in the winter time that is another story.  The TV doesn’t come back on the air until most of the snow melts off the dish!!!  We have called Direct TV and they have sent out technicians and still we continue to have the same problems.

So we have decided to switch back to our old and reliable cable, or have we???  It seems that Direct TV will NOT let us out of our 2 year contract!!!  That is correct, even having no TV when it rains and snows they will still not let us out of our contract!!!  I understand from reading and researching online that there are several class action law suites against Direct TV!!!  Also even though we paid hundreds of dollars for our dish and DVR receiver, plus two extra receivers we still do NOT own them!!!  That’s right, we are leasing them according to Direct TV!!!

I felt it very necessary to blog about this subject in hopes of saving many other families the torture and frustration.  We are currently working on this issue and have contacted the Attorney General’s office of Pennsylvania!!!  Direct TV offers 99% reliability with their products, and this is not true!!!  Please do not fall for this trick, or as I like to call it; SCAM!!!  Also read the fine print very carefully because you may just be the next statistic out there!!!  Yes we enjoy the extra channels we did not get with cable, but the question remains; When do we get to enjoy these extra channels???  The answer is very simple; When the weather is sunny and there is not a cloud in the sky!!!  Thanks Direct TV for all your help is solving this matter, also thanks again to Direct TV for not letting us out of our contract!!!  That is correct folks, when you purchase Direct TV, get good and ready for 2 full years of aggravation!!! 24 Months of watching your favorite shows 1/4 to 1/2 the way through only to lose your signal and miss the rest of your show!!!

Our Case is Pending, I will touch on this subject again as time goes by and "if" we get any kind of results.

WWF to WWE: Was It The Beginning Of The End?

Sad like this man, you all know that the former WWF and now WWE is losing ratings and many fans after decades of loyalty.  I will go over some of the reasons why and tell you all my thoughts on this disaster.

First off;  When wrestling started off many years ago and I started to watch at a very young age they only had 3 belts, and one pay per view a year.  As I grew older so did professional wrestling.  I noticed that I could pick the decisions, and tell when there were going to be count outs because they would want to save things for the pay per view night.  This is when professional wrestling went from that one pay per view which was Wrestle Mania, to one pay per view every month!  Also as the pay per views went up, so did the number of championship belts as well.  Many things increased in wrestling along with Vince McManns greed!

My family here in Central PA watched wrestling for many of years.  Before I was even old enough to realize and remember what was happening around me.  Also with all my family members put together we had well over 100 years of combined wrestling viewing!  Guess what folks?  Myself along with all of my family have stopped watching professional wrestling!  Our Sunday dinner’s and All American Wrestling which use to come at noon on USA is no more.  Now we have a night of RAW and a night of SMACKDOWN, and who knows what is next?

This last thought I would like to get out to all the fans and former fans is this;  Alot of people right now due to the American economy being in trouble do not have the funds to pay every month to watch wrestling.  This is what ruined things here folks.  Your following wrestling all month long only to lose out on the main events because you have to put food on your table and gas in your tank.  That is correct Vince, most hard working American people do not have the money every month to pay for your sport when all the other sports are mainly free!  Your greed is costing you money now, you wanted to make more money and now your losing more, and I would be willing to bet it hurts!  I mean really, what is the sense to follow your favorite wrestler or wrestlers all month and then on their biggest day you can not watch them fight?  Professional wrestling has taken a major hit, they struck us first with their greed, and now we are striking back with our refusal to pay every month to see our favorite matches.

I wonder when they are going to start charging us for the playoffs in professional football and baseball?  Will this happen?  It happened in wrestling, and only time will tell.

John McCain

I would really like to see this hard fighting war veteran as our next president of the United States!!!  His views are great for America at this point in time.  Not only is he very busy traveling the United States, but he stops in the smallest of places and talks with the working class people of the United States.  Obama is busy traveling the world when he should be here traveling the United States and worrying about our people.

I think with all the years of experience around the world and in politics John McCain could be the next Ronald Regan.  We need John McCain now, so remember to vote for him in November, and then we can all watch him get sworn in come January!!!  What a great way to start off the new year in 2009 with our next new President John McCain!!!  Thanks for Reading and Take Care Mikey/PA

Tough Times in the World

I was thinking and these are some really tough times for our country and stuff right now.  We have two different areas of warfare going on right now, and then on the home front we have a struggling economy and stuff.  We also have to make a very big decision this year as we choose our next president!!!

I would have to go with the experience, and that is Senator John McCain.  He has been to war and back.  I also think his age has nothing to do with things, he is also a republican just like Ronald Regan and old too.  Turns out though that former president Regan was one of our greatest presidents!!!  I think he has what it takes to turn things around.  I also do not think our current president is terrible, he did many things wrong but we have not had another 9/11 since that horrible day!!!

Everyone is struggling in the world and having to choose over gasoline and food.  It is really a bad situation, and as the winter draws near for some of us in the United States we wonder how we are going to pay for our heating oil and other heating sources???  Life is tough, I would have to say that these are some of the toughest times I personally have ever seen!!!  I have not been around as long as a lot of other people, I was born in 1975 when Jimmy Carter was president.  I just really think these are tough times, everyone is starting now to reach their breaking points!!!  What do we do???  That is the million dollar question that no one can really answer right now!!!  There is speculation and that is about it.  I am just going to keep my head up high and push forward and hope for the best.  We have to make the best of what we got in order to be really happy.  I know there are a lot of folks in the world who have it a lot worse than I do!!!  God Bless the World in this time of pain and anxieties!!!  Thanks Everyone for reading and do Take Care!!!  Mikey/Pugs

Space

I just wanted to share my opinion about space and the planets and everything else that our Lord created. I always wondered what it would be like to travel in space. I know now we have robots on Mars searching for evidence of life. There are so many galaxies and places up there and now I know that I am older why they call it SPACE!!! There is lots of it up there for sure. I often wonder about the reports of UFO’s and stuff. I do believe that we are not the only ones out there!!!
I mean really, how do we know for sure??? Space is so huge and there are so many stars out there and stuff that we really could honestly not make an educated guess that we could call fact. I am open minded and always have been. I believe that our Lord is the master wizard and creator of life and everything in the world including space. Sure our planet was formed from the Big Bang Theory, but who created Space??? This is where GOD comes in and reminds me of his powers.

Tattoo’s

 

This is my favorite tat and the most expensive one I have out of 7.  I started out in 1993 in the service by getting my first one just outside the base at Ft Leonardwood in Missouri.  I got a clown tat for my first one and actually got light headed!!!  

After that experience you would think I would have stopped.  I didnt stop, in fact it made me crave and want more!!!  I am still going strong and plan on getting another one next year.

Summer Time

You know everyone you can always tell when summer is here.  The animals are out playing and singing and doing their thing, and also the human population is outside going about their daily activities.  It seems to me very much that the world comes alive in the warmer months.  I enjoy a nice rainy evening, sitting here and listening to the thunder roar and the smell of the fresh rain on a hot summer day.  There is nothing like summer time, the earth itself comes to life.  Trees grow their leaves, flowers come out of the earth, and the green grass climbs higher and higher.  This is a sign from GOD that his earth and his doing is all around us.  I hope everyone enjoys their summer and stays cool when the weather is a little too hot.  Nothing like a nice sunny and hot summer day and jumping in a body of water.  Whether it be a swimming pool or a river or even the ocean, this is GOD’s gift to us.  Enjoy it and take care!!!

Into The Wild

I just watched this movie and have to say it was one of the best movies I have seen in a very long time.  It starts off with a young man who graduates from college and then after that he just goes his own way;  He was tired of living the rich life, having parents that provided for him all the time, and also seeing all the fights and abuse his parents put themselves and their family thru growing up.  It really has some inspirational quotes in the movie and is based on a true story.

The young man destroys his identity, and gives away all his saving to charity and then burns what money he has left to travel the country, be at one with nature and live off the land.  He goes thru many touching experiences and it brings this movie together for one of the most relaxing and thoughtful movies I have ever seen.  The young man aka "Alex" meets many amazing people in his travels from hippies, to a retired military man.  Every person he meets he writes things down and learns something new from everyone of them.

I admit, I have watched this movie over 10 times now at least, I like to watch it again and again because every I watch it I learn something or see something that I didn’t see in the past while viewing.

I hardly ever write reviews about movies, but this one is well worth the time out of your day to view.  This man is very smart, and very at one with nature, and also he lives as free as free can be thru out the rest of his life.  On his great trip, his ultimate destination; "Alaska"

I have to also mention the music in the movie is awesome; This movie is just packaged with song after song.  A lot of the songs are sung by Eddie Vedder who I have never heard of before, but WOW, can he ever sing!!!  His songs have such meaning to them, they are so well written by him and he sings them with such powerful tone.  I am only being honest everyone; "Into The Wild" is a must see for any person who can spare 2 hours out of their busy day!!!

FLOCK WEB BROWSER

I just have to tell everyone how much I love the web browser Flock.  It is user friendly in every way possible.  Very similar to Fire Fox 2 for sure and I did something that I never did in my 8 or so years online.  I changed my default web browser from IE to Flock.  Flock is made for social browsing, such as sharing photos, videos, and using sites like youtube, facebook, flickr and many many more!!!

I must say that the tab browsing is great and the crash recovery works as I over loaded the system myself here kinda on purpose stupid as it may sound to see if the crash recovery worked, and it not only took me right back to my youtube video, but it also opened up my other tab that was set on myspace at the time.  They are currently working on integrating myspace and maybe some others into the side bar if you choose to use the side bar.  That is part of Flock, they have a neat side bar and a header that will include all of your photos from flickr and stuff "if" you choose to use that features or those features sorry.  Myself, they take up more of my screen and I only have a 17" monitor so things are kinda small ya know, lol.

I just have to say though that it is fantastic as a browser and you can use the add-ons and extensions from Fire Fox 2 also in Flock.  Very user friendly and the start up page contains tons of useful web sites that you may visit daily then, you can also customize it easily and then pick your own home page as well if you so chose.  I only talk about the software that I use and love so much and now Flock is included in this software.
